Emma has peed on the potty a few times, but isn't ready to give up her diapers. She also got a new toddler bed but has decided she's pretty attached to her crib. She is talking very well and also stays in her class at church, yea. The other day she was driving me crazy with her constant whining so I finally gave her something to keep her attention for a while and got out some beads. She picked right up on the task of stringing the beads by herself and made that pretty necklace.

Updated pictures of the girls
Lauren is sitting up and rolling over and continues to dazzle with her smiles. She is starting to fuss when mom leaves or when there are new people around, but is generally a very happy girl. She adores her sister and loves being smashed by Emma's hugs.

5 Mile Outing
My brother finally got us out riding with our girls Saturday. We were dressed warm and were able to have a campfire to keep warm. We all had a great time!

Heavenly Father's Little Girl
I shared this story in a lesson I taught last month. I like it a lot. Hope you can see the parallels.
Once upon a time there lived a beautiful girl who lived with her father in a small village. This little girl loved her Father very much. He was the joy in her world.
This father loved His little girl. More than can ever be written. More than can ever be told. He loved her like a father loves a daughter. With a perfect love that only deepens with the days that come.
Now this father had a heavy heart. He looked at His little girl, whom He loved so much, and he knew that she needed far more than this village could ever offer. He knew He would soon have to send her away so that she could become all that He knew she could be.
When the time came, there was much sadness. But both had hope that one day they would be reunited and the girl could make her Father proud with all that she had become.
Communication was difficult. Time passed. The girl seldom thought about the far-away Father whom she had loved, but who had sent her away.
The Father’s love was perfect. It did not falter but continued to grow. He worried about His daughter. He worried she would forget who she was and that the world would be hard on the girl He loved so deeply.
He sent reminders. He sent help.
Sometimes the girl responded; other times she was too lost to receive help from a far-away father in a small village.
Years passed. The Father grew old. He did not know where His daughter was. He remained hopeful that they would one day be reunited and she will have become all that He imagined she could become. He knew her potential. He loved her with a perfect love.
At last the time came where she stood before Him. How He had waited for this day! She told Him of her life. She told Him the world was hard on her. She told Him there were times she forgot who she was. She told Him that she had received the help He sent her and she was grateful.
She was able to become all she could be. Now they could be together forevermore.
The Father’s joy was full. He had prepared for this day the whole time His daughter had been away. Now He could give her all that He had to give. The rewards for her faithful return were more than can ever be written. More than can ever be told. Now they could truly be together forevermore.

Christmas Letter 2011

It is with great pleasure that I sit to write our Christmas letter. I was going to go the easy route this year and send a picture greeting that said “Joy to the World,” but have been inspired by my family to proceed as follows,
I, Ashley Nicole Holland Jaggi, present the following awards this December of 2011, to the following:
The Greatest Dad Award goes to Jake, for being the most amazing father and dad to his girls. I knew Jake was going to be a great dad, but I have continually been stunned by just how great he is at this. He manages to be adored by each of the girls in our family while being firm, consistent, and just plain endearing. He is continually teaching, loving, and entertaining. Emma’s favorite word to use with dad is ‘again’ and mom is continually delighted to see he never turns her away due to being too tired, or too anything. He is always a father, and always a dad, and how I love him for it!
Next, The Most Accomplished in a Year Award goes to Emma, for how much she has learned this year. Since last Christmas, this girl has learned how to walk, talk, eat with a spoon, be a big sister, fake cry, run, dance, twirl, open drawers, open cupboards, open ziplock bags, play with dolls, pretend, tell stories, play with others (still a work in progress, might I add), play the piano, sing, clean up, clean, draw, and has learned American Sign Language (also a work in progress, but she knows over 50 signs!) Wow, she has been busy!
And finally, The Quickest to Smile Award goes to Lauren who gives her smiles quickly and freely to anyone and everyone whether they are talking to her, smiling at her, or just there to look at. I have seen her power to change someone’s mood in a second with her beautiful smile and she sure does attract attention with it!
As for myself, I have had the joy this year of supporting everyone in their accomplishments. How I love to see others succeed! I have also LOVED the opportunity to teach Emma about the two men who make Christmas and how they teach the same principles of loving, giving, and inviting others to do good.
I hope this letter finds you well and in behalf of my family, wish you all a Merry Christmas.
With Love,
Jacob, Ashley, Emma, and Lauren
