Our little Emma is growing up. Here is a long overdue update.
She is starting to say more and more words, even putting them together at times. She has said "up stairs," "cute dress," "Emma snack," "Christmas tree," and today she even said "Oh my goodness." She loves experimenting with new words and copying what people say. She loves to explain her world with her words. She also loves telling people what to do, where to sit, etc.
She has an excellent memory and will remind you of your less-than glorious moments like when the shower rod fell on my head when she was taking a bath months ago. She's definitely an independent thinker and out of nowhere will tell you about her cousin, Porter, or about the snow outside.
She still always wants to go buh bye or watch baby signing time. She also loves to draw, look at pictures, go to story time, read books, and pull stuff out of drawers. She loves to do things by herself and always tells herself good job, which she says "job." She'll also go park herself on someone's lap expecting that they're up for reading a book with her.
She's always proud of herself when attempting something. She tries to jump and her feet never leave the floor but she gets so excited. She also tries to do somersaults and basically rolls over sideways and then she'll clap and clap until everyone acknowledges her proud moment.
She still does awesome with her sign language and also enjoys fingerplays and songs and it is the cutest! Her favorites are The Wheels on the Bus and The Eensy Weensy Spider.
Little Lauren has also changed a lot in her 2 1/2 months of life. She is quick to give a smile to anyone who talks to her or gives her any kind of attention. She LOVES to be able to look around and watch what is happening. She is a good eater and a good sleeper. She also takes a bottle and a pacifier, which Emma never figured out until it was past her time.
Our girls are a lot of fun and they are both at stages where they are only going to continue to be more and more fun. I'm grateful for my girls and family this Thanksgiving season.
We had a fun Halloween, despite Emma's aversion to costumes and most everything Halloween. She also managed to get sick the day before if I'm remembering right and so she was still recovering. But it all worked out because she put her costume on.We had fun dressing up and went to a church get-together. She had no interest in trick-or-treating and that was a-ok with us.
