Emma Catherine Jaggi

She is here! Emma Catherine Jaggi. She was born Friday morning at 10:20, weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. She has been wonderful. We had the normal challenges early on with breastfeeding, but that is going well now and we actually got a good nights sleep last night. She is so precious and has her Dad and Mom laughing often and completely in love with her!

Here are a few pictures you can check out, but they'll only be available to see for another week.

Maternity pictures

My friend Marisa gave me the extra boost of courage I needed to make sure I snapped a few maternity photos to document that our baby truly was growing and growing and growing inside me.. Here they are.

The Nursery

Back when we first started contemplating making our "spare uhm"/"storage room"/"Sarah's room"/"Jeff's room"/"the computer room" into a nursery, I decided it would be fun to take pictures to catalog the progress we were making. I probably didn't start soon enough or take enough pictures to truly show the transition that has been wrought in this room, but it's fun to get a taste of the progression.

So here we begin.. Momma and baby's exercise equipment..

After much re-organizing of the whole house and a few trips to D.I., Here we are finally getting to put the nursery furniture together and in the room. (Thanks neighbor Seth for helping carry stuff up our stairs and Kenny who lent us the truck to get the things to our home.)

Beautiful furniture, handsome husband..

It's all ready, we're just missing a baby now..

Thanks to everyone who helped us get the things we needed to make it so beautiful!

We've made it to the due date!

So I was thinking about how I was due to have a baby today and am clearly not at the hospital.. It's a little disheartening. I'm hoping she'll arrive by the end of the week. My mom said way back that I should plan on her being 2 weeks late so I won't be disappointed when she isn't early. She was right. I really should have realized with this whole having a baby thing that it never goes according to my plan. It's all been a waiting game. But then I was thinking about how a chick hatches after ages of just sitting on the eggs and waiting for them to hatch (YIKES!) and how difficult it would be to wait while the poor little baby does all the work. I'll be glad to have my work cut out for me when she finally comes. We sure do have it easy in comparison to so many others. And she'll be healthier with all the time she's had to prepare to enter the world.

And the good news is I'm having braxton hicks contractions quite often today. My body is in training for the real event. Hopefully my next post will be about having a darling little baby in our arms.
